Apr. 17 Spending night's away from home, living like cave men in a 12 ft long longhouse, a prehistoric home of straw and clay provided by the local water board, which they have built in their spare time in the grounds of Rye Park School, are children from two schools in Hoddesdon, Hertz. The boys and girls wear loin cloths made of sacking, and their beds are of straw and dried reeds. Their food includes meat roasted over a spit over an open fire. The idea of the trip into the past is that of Mr. William Laar, headmaster of Rye Park Junior school, and Mr. David Martin, headmaster of Sheredes comprehensive school
