Apr. 18 An unprecedented 10, 700 Runners old and young men and women Turn out to Participate in the Ome Marathon in Tokyo: On February 20, the 11th Ome Marathon took off from Ome city, and perhaps the largest number of participants of 10, 700 joined this road race. Starting with the Men's open 30 kilometer race, there are 8 other recess of different categories, such as 10 Kilo for high school boys 10 kilo for women, 10 kilo for over 70 years of age, 60 years, 50 years and 40 years. The winner of the men's open was Yoshir Ajisawa employee of Konishiroku film Company, who was clocked in at lhr:34:36. J. Fatz winner of the Boston Marathon, participated but came in 5th with a time of 1hr:36:12. The road race was blessed with beautiful sun, weather butan was unfortunate incident occurred whe one of the runners aged 54 suffered a heart attack and died the following day.
