Dec. 12, 1964 - This clock gets It's energy from Light!! Light is the source of energy which drives this very unusual clock produced in Switzerland and shown in Frankfurt for the first time. A photo cell which is sensitive to even the smallest amount of light produces the energy to drive the minute clock motor. A miniature battery is also incorporated which can be used to drive the clock when it is too dark for the photocell to operate. Photo shows The new Light Clock contrasted with an ancient sun-dial on exhibition in Frankfurt
