Oct. 10, 1964 - Westmoreland Village takes on Wild West Atmosphere: The tiny village of Kirby Stephen, in Westmoreland yesterday took on the atmosphere of a Wild West Town - when hill farmer Mr. Walter Tuer brought his hill ponies in for auction. One hundred and fifty of them - all shapes and sizes were driven through the main street - and auctioned at the local auction mart.
