CCTV in Hatton Garden misses daytime raid

Mar. 03, 1967 - Hidden Police TV Camera Fails To Spot Jewel Thieves In Hatton Garden Raid: TV cameras were installed at Hatton Garden, London's diamond market, two years ago to spot thieves. But yesterday when a gang made a 50, 000 raid the camera was switched off. It only operates at night. The thieves got into the jewellers in Cross Street by pretending to be detective searching for stolen gold. Then they tied up the staff and took the jewels.
