Cecil King and Hugh Cudlipp at IPC annual meeting

Jul. 07, 1968 - Mr. Cecil King Faces Mr. Hugh Cudlipp At The Annual Meeting of The International Publishing Corporation. Mr. Cecil King said that 13 fellow-directors had deposed him as chairman of the International Publishing Corporation in a conspiracy of a particularly squalid kind'. He was addressing shareholders at the annual meeting in London of the IPC. Mr. King, 67, was removed from the Board on May 30, and succeeded by Mr. Hugh Cudlipp, 54, who revealed that Mr. King had received a £35, 000 handshake'.
