Jul. 07, 1975 - The Economic and Political situation in Argentina - new Economy Minister Celestino Rodrigo and the drastic devaluation of the Argentine peso. The Argentine government headed by President Maria Estela Martinez de Peron (Isabel) is currently embattled with the labour syndicate to find a solution in view of the danger of serious strikes, the main menace of the CGT, labour trade union of Argentina. And in the meantime, July 1st was the first anniversary of the death of former President Juan Domingo Peron, when members attended the Metropolitan Cathedral. President Isabel Peron has agreed to scrap her 50 per cent pay cap to appease the striking workers, but still refuses the demand of the union leaders to sack her closest adviser, Lopez Rega, and Economy Minister Celestino Rodrigo.
