The Chaletvan British-built Caravan for

1965 - A British firm Carahomes of Walton-on-Thames, Surrey - have produced the first caravan for the motorcyclist. Called the Chaletvan, it is built to be towed by a 350cc or 500cc motorcycle with sidecar. It weighs just under 41/2 cwt and contains adequate comfort for two adults and, if necessary, one child. It has a kitchen section with a sink and draining board and space for a gas grill and cylinder - and a bedroom/lounge containing two full-size single berths that also serve as lockers and as couches on each side of a folding table. There is also a wardrobe and other locker space and room to fit a child's folding berth. It is priced at lb125 and is thus the smallest, lightest and cheapest caravan yet produced.
