Charles E Bohlen, US Ambassador to Soviet Union

1968 - US Ambassador to the Soviet Union Charles E. Bohlen arrived here today via TWA International constellation to begin a vacation of a month to six weeks with his family. Before rushing off for Fishers Island, NY Mr Bohlen was interviewed by reporters. He declined to comment on the visit of German Chancellor Adenauer and present US and USSR relations. Asked about this morning's reports of Premier Bulganin being seriously ill Mr Bohlen said he saw Bulganin on September 14 at the Moscow airport and that the premier was not noticeably ill. Mr Bohlen plans to swim, play golf and generally enjoy himself. Credits: TWA (Credit Image: (c) Keystone Pictures USA/ZUMAPRESS.com/Mary Evans)
