Sep. 09, 1966 - World Famous Orchestra Conductor To Give Concert In Paris: Charles Munch, the world famous orchestra conductor, is now rehearsing at the Paris radio house where he will give a concert on the occasion of his 75th birthday. Born in Strasburg in 1891. Charles Munch started his career as a violin teacher in his native Alsace, in 1926, at the age of 35, he was promoted to solo violin player at Leipzig where he took his first lesson as an orchestra conductor from the famous German conductor Furtwangler. In 1948 he conducted the Boston Philharmonic Orchestra. He was also appointed director of the Berkshire music centre
