Charles, Prince of Wales, To Attend Gordonstoun, Scotland

1963 - Scotland, United Kingdom - Charles, Prince of Wales will go to Gordonstoun, his father's old school on the Moray Firth in Scotland. At the beginning of the summer term he will join Windmill Lodge, a house with 60 boys at the tough school. His headmaster will be Mr. F R G Chew, who has run the school since 1959. The main aim of Gordonstoun is the development of character and initiative, with strong emphasis on self-discipline and physical endurance. The boys make their own beds, polish the dormitory floor and do odd minor maintenance jobs. The mural was painted by the art master for a public performance of The Pirates of Penzance
