Charlie Roberts with world's biggest tomato
Mar. 31 The World's Biggest Tomato: 62-year-old Charlie Roberts, a superintendent at an old people's home at Eastbourne, Sussex, has succeeded in growing a tomato weighing a staggering 4 1/4 pounds - a world record. The seed was taken from a giant 3 pound tomato grown last year. Charlie encouraged the growth of his record breaking tomato by playing it radio music through a pair of Stereo headphones every day.
