Chimp helps in nationwide painting competition, London

May 07, 1980 - Chimps help in Nationwide paintings competition: Miki and Anthony the famous tea-drinking chimps, were in action today at Jubilee Gardens in London when they don their thinking caps and artist's gear to consider how to paint a safer world. The reason for the Chimps was to stimulate the artistic imagination of Britain's youngsters. It's all part of a Nationwide painting competition in which children are being asked to paint their concepts of how the world could be made a safer place to live, work and play in. The competition, which is being organised by the Permoglaze Safety Education Trust, a committee of the British Safety Council will culminate in the painting of a giant poster at Jubilee Gardens in July.
