Choirboys rehearsing for Coronation, Addington Palace

May 14, 1953 - Choirboys rehearse for Coronation: Thirty-two boys are rehearsing the music for the Coronation at Addington Palace, Croydon. Twenty of the boys have been chosen by the Royal Schools of Music from amongst its 3000 member choirs all over the country, and the other twelve are choristers from six cathedrals. This is the first coronation, it is believed, at which boys from parish church and school choirs have been chosen to sing. Photo shows the scene as the boys rehearse at Addington Palace today
