Dec. 12, 1952 - GILDED CAGE.. DECORATIONS IN MANCHESTER PRISON FOR CAROL SERVICE.. Officers of Strangeways Jail, Manchester had sections of the prison decorated with paper chains for the Carol service held there. The service was held in the chapel and was attended by the Mayors of many towns including Manchester and Sheffield.
