Christopher Greener 1943- 3rd Tallest British Man
Apr 18, 1974 - London, England, United Kingdom - CHRISTOPHER GREENER (born Christopher Paul Greener, (born November 21, 1943) was the United Kingdoms tallest British-born man for nearly 4 decades, peaking at 7 feet 6.25 inches in (229.2 cm) in height. Chris Greener, from a very young age, had a tumour at the base of his pituitary gland, which controls the release of human growth hormone. The tumour caused Greeners pituitary to grow to several times the size of that of an average person, and he would not have stopped growing had the tumour not been surgically removed when he was in his late 20s. Amazingly, his condition, pituitary gigantism, was not diagnosed until 1970 when Christopher Greener was 27 years old.
