Church service in a bus, Andover, Hampshire
Jul. 07, 1966 - Church Service In Bus: A church services in a bus was held yesterday at Andover. It was conducted by a curate, the Rev. Bryan Apps, and attended by people from new housing estates in the Hampshire town who have, as yet, no church or hall in which to hold services. Mr. Apps, who thought of the idea of converting an old double-decker bus into a church (services on the lower deck; Sunday school upstairs) will help volunteers drive it from estate to estate. Inside are an altar, sanctuary, hymn board, and a tape recorder to provide the organ music. Photo shows. The church services being conducted inside the bus at Andover, Hants, yesterday
