Jan. 01, 1953 - Atom test for CD mobile unit, hauling up a casualty; Members of the St Helier group (Surrey) Civil Defence mobile unit took part in a realistic demonstration on the river's edge in Grosvenor Road, Westminster, London, to find out how quickly and efficiently a mobile unit can operate on foot in finding and pulling out casualties from an atom bombed area. The Timber Wharf Dock in Grosvenor Road was the scene of the demonstration.
