Civil Defence demonstration, treatment of casualty, London

Atom test for CD mobile unit. Casualty receives a hot drink. 25-1-53 Members of the St Helier group (Surrey) Civil Defence mobile unit take part in a realistic demonstration on the river's edge in Grosvenor Road, Westminster, London, to find out how quickly and efficiently a mobile unit can operate on foot in finding, treating and pulling out casualties from an atom bombed area. The Timber Wharf Dock in Grosvenor Road was the scene of the demonstration. Keystone Photo Shows: One of the casualties is given a hot drink by two female members of the unit, Mrs. Fisher (L) and Miss Doreen Ditchfield during the demonstration
