Aug. 08, 1959 - World Famous Air Pioneer Dies. Claude Graham White the world famous air pioneer, who was the holder of Britain's No. 6 flying licence, died today in hospital at Nice. He would have been 80 on Friday. He had been ill with a spinal complaint. He first made his name in 1910 when he took part in the London to Manchester air race.
