Cleaning women scrubbing deck of Cutty Sark, Greenwich

Jun. 06, 1957 - The Cutty Sark restoration almost completed, Mrs Mops move in; The world's most famous sailing ship the Cutty Sark Tea Clipper is now almost back to her original splendour as she was when constructed in 1869. Shw is now in a permanent berth in a dock at Greenwich and her restoration cost is estimated at about @250, 000 to include the establishment of a number of bursaries to aid youg men train and qualify as officers in the Merchant Navy. The setting up of the vessel as a Museum at Greeenwich - has been organized by the Cutty Sark Preservation Society and the Museum will be officially opened by H.M. The Queen next Tuesday.
