Sep. 09, 1978 - Jeremy Thorpe at the Liberal Party Conference: Jeremy Thorpe, the former Liberal Leader, was given a mixed reception by the delegates as he went through yesterday with his self-imposed ordeal of appearing at his party's annual conference in Southport. Some of the delegates applauded him but about 300 others walked out. Mr Thorpe is facing charges of conspiracy and incitement to murder former male model Norman Scott.
