Cloth of Gold woven for Coronation
Apr. 17 Coronation fabrics are being woven at the mills of Warner and Sons at Braintree, Essex, England. Among the cloths to come out of the mill are crimson satin, damask, velvet, Cloth of Gold for the Armill, a stole which the Queen will wear, and purple velvet for the Royal Robe of State. Photo shows Queensway, a fabric being woven for the frontals to the balconies and various curtains in Westminster Abbey. Gold designs of the national emblems (Rose, Thistle, Shamrock and Leek) below a Royal Crown of Ivy leaves, fleurs-de-lys, pinks and other flowers are on a blue silk ground.
