Coach and four, Brigadier Aspland retirement

Feb. 02, 1968 - Commandant Leaves By Coach And Four. Parade To Mark Retirement Of Brig. L.J. Aspland: When Brigadier Lindsey Aspland, commandant of the Royal Corps of Transport Training Centre, retired today, he was driven away from the barracks by the regimental coach and four, escorted by thirty mounted soldiers. A parade in honour of the Brigadier was held on the main parade ground at the Royal Corps of Transport Training Centre, Queen Elizabeth Barracks, Crookham, near Aldershot. Brigadier Aspland was received by a general salute and after inspecting the parade he took the salute at the march past. The regimental coach and four of the Royal Corps of Transport took the Brigadier about a mile and a half to Buller officers Mess, Radfield House, for a farewell lunch with his officers.
