Dec. 12, 1953 - Teachers for Peace Conference Opens. The Chairman Speaks.: The two day conference of the Teachers for Peace opened this afternoon at Holborn Hall. Many delegates who were to have attended - were refused permission to enter the country on the orders of the Home Secretary - Sir David Maxwell Fyfe. Photo shows Miss Margaret Davies a retired London Schoolmistress - who is chairman of the National Committee makes a speech during the meeting. On right is Miss. M. Philibert - the Secretary of the meeting
