Jan. 11, 1955 - One hundred year old windmill as center piece of a modern grammar school: A century old windmill stands in the center of the newly constructed John Ruskin Grammar School at Shirley, Croydon. The Windmill is a local landmark and it was agreed that it should remain when plans for the super modern school, were passed.
