Feb. 25 Teaching deaf children to lip read Hazel Hodges, one of the devoted teachers of the School for the Deaf in Old Kent Road, teaches 4 year olds to lip read. When children start an early age they usually achieve some measure of usefulness in speech by the time they are adult, provided they have understanding and patient parents. Often this is not the case, the exasperated parents drive the child into a reclusive condition
