Durney works on a cosmic ray detector fro the British-instrumented Scout satellite to be launched from Wallops Island, Virginia, next year. It will be mounted on the spin axis of the satellite. Durney is a science graduate who is studying at the London University college which is being expanded and reconstructed at a cost of about42 million
