Mar. 31 Britain's Oldest Public School, Scholars of the King's School, Canterbury, leave Meisterers (A School Boarding House) for Sunday Matins in the Cathedral: Scholars wear this special traditional dress for the morning attendance in the Cathedral, which is the Chape of the School. For 400 years King's Scholars have processed to and from the Cathedral for they are part of the foundation as much as any canon or dean. Each is admitted into his office by the dean, and each has to take an oath of obedience to a new archbishop
