To make simple the selection and order of the books, there have been produced special catalogues, which besides of the usual statements mention also the correct place of the book in the magazine. If a book should be lent out, the loan-office test the statements on the pawn-ticket and gives by a pneumatic post installation the order to the concerned magazine. By buzzing signals and light-tableaus the working employees are drawn their attention to the one of the 13 pneumatic post installations in which district the wanted book is to find. Then the book must only be done on one of the three conveyor belts, which bring the books form the three floors of the library to the issuing depot.
