Jun. 06, 1966 - Sandhurst Cadet Stalk Stuffed Animals; Twenty six cadets from the Royal Military Academy, Sandhurst, set off through the Sunderland in Surrey yesterday to stalkss stuffed Leopard's head (mounted on a shield), two surfer white possum (on a walnut stand) and a stuffed mongoose. It was, said the Academy, an essential part of their training.In August, these same cadets will be training on an expedition of study the local wild life at close range - and they badly been practice, For Yesterday's exercise over Barossa Common, Camberley, the maongoose was hidden in the ferns, the possum behind a tree and the leopard's head in the bushes. One by one the cadets were despatched, armed with binoculars to track the beasts down and cameras to record their success at getting close to them. When it was over, Captain John Blashford-Snell, who will lead - the Ethiopian expedition admitted: I'm afraid it wasn't whopping success. Trouble was, we couldn't ge enough stuffed animals.
