Jun. 06, 1967 - St.Paul's gets a New Dean the venerable Martin Gloster Sullivan. The Venerable Martin Gloster Sullivan, Archdeacon of London since 1963, has been appointed the new Dean of St. Paul's.New Zeland born of Irish parentage, the Van. Sullivan succeeds Dr.Walter Matthews, aged 85, who has resigned. The post inclides a ?3, 500 a year salary, and a 25 room rent free house.
