Oct. 10, 1973 - Nobel prize in chemistry awarded to British and German professor to-day: This year's Nobel laureates for chemistry are British Prof. Georffrey Wilkiason, 52, who is teaching at London University and his German colleague, Prof. Ernst Otto Fischer, 55, dept of An organic Chemistry at Technische Unitersitat Munich. Both scientists have worked in the field of metallic-organic chemistry. Professor Wilkinson discovered a certain homogene catalyst. The one found in Rhodium was named after him. Metallic-organic compounds play an important part in present-day chemistry, for they make the producing of completely new chemicals possible when present.
