The year the microscope has been given to the scientist, professor Bengt Falck, Lund, Sweden. Professor Falck was elected after thorougly in vestigations by scientific circles around the world and was awarded microscope nr. 800.000. The award has previously been given to famous scientists like Robert Koch, Paul Ehrlich, Martin Heidenhain, Ludwig Aschoff, Paul Domagk and in modern time to Paul Weiss, Wolfgang Bargmann and hans Selye.
