Oct. 11, 1977 - Alain Peyrefitte, Minister of Justice, who will be inducted into the French Academy on Thursday, received his sword at the Chancery in Paris from R. P. Carre, a member of the French Academy. Peyrefitte is pictured showing off his sword, which was made by master engraver Raymond Tschudin. The handle has a miner's lamp on the front, recalling Peyrefitte's fight for his profession. On the reverse side, there is a reproduction of the Great Wall of China, as an hommage to the author of When China Will Wake Up
