Dec. 12, 1980 - Susan Brown Could Become The First Women In The Oxford And Cambridge Boat Race: Susan Brown, 22, an Oxford undergraduate is tipped to became the first women to compete in the oxford Cambridge boat race on April 4th next year, in the 152-year history of the event. On the Thames at Putney on Saturday she coxed Diana, one of the two Oxford trial boats, to a hollow victory as the rival all male boat. Charles Sunk in the blustery conditions, so the trial race will take place again today. A big thing in Susan Brown's favour is her weight.At 5ft 5 in tall. She weighs only 6ft 8lbs.
