May 05, 1958 - Venezuela New Permanent Representative to the United Nations: Portrait of Ambassador Carlos Sosa-Rodriguez. Venezuela new permanent Representative to the United Nations, who presented his credentials to Secretary General Dag Hammarskjold during a brief ceremony at U.N. headquarters earlier today. Born in Caracas, Capital of Venezuela. On 30 April 1912. Ambassador Sosa-Rodriguez studied law in Venezuela and in France and received Doctorates in Law from Law School in Paris and from the central University of Venezuela. From 1939 to 1949 he served as legal counsel for the Creola Petroleum Corporation in 1947 he was elected Vice-President of the College of Lawyers in 1949. Mr. Sosa-Rodriguez was appointed Controller General of the Venezuelan Government and in 1950 he was named Venezuela Ambassador to London, a post held until 1952. Mr. Sosa-Rodriguez is the author of a number of legal works. Including a book on International Maritime Law. Le Droit Fluvial International a les Fleuves de L'Amerique which was published in Paris
