Aug. 08, 1967 - The Guerrilla Armed Struggle In The Republic Of Colombia: The national Liberation Army (ELN) of Colombia, began its armed struggle against the government troops on January 7, 1967, when it captured the town of Simacota. In this action a manitary garrison was wiped out. The guidelines of the National Liberation Army were stated in the Simacota compunique.
