Aug. 08, 1974 - The Colonel Who Plans to Save Britain from Chaos. Col. David Stirling, who founded the Special Air Service during the second World War, has said that he plans to go ahead with the volunteer organisation Great Britain 1975 (G.B.75 for short) to keep the country going in the event of a general strike and prevent chaos. Col Stirling said yesterday We have been rumbled before we were ready. The aim of the organisation is intended to provide trained volunteers to help the Government of the day keep public services, such as power stations running during anything like a general strike.
