May 22, 1959 - 22-5-59 Laying up of Colours of the Royal Berkshire Regiment The Colours of the 1st. Bn. The Royal Berkshire Regiment, were laid up today in the State Apartments at Windsor Castle. The Royal Berkshire Regiment and the Wiltshire Regiment are to amalgamate at Albany Barracks, Newport, Isle of Wight, on June 9th, to form the Duke of Edinburgh Royal Regiment (Berkshire and Wiltshire).
