Combined forces demonstration at Culver Cliff, Isle of Wight
May 17, 1955 - Exercise Runaground VI - on the Isle of Wight. Grapnels fired up the Cliff face: Students of the Staff Colleges of the three services are taking part in Runaground VI at Culver Cliff on the Isle of Wight and Gosport today. The first phase of the demonstration consists of a Commando Cliff assault up a 250ft high rock face. Keystone press: Rocket apparatus is used to fire grapnels up to the top of the Cliff during the assault demonstration at Culver Cliff on the Isle of Wight this afternoon
