Sep. 20, 1965 - Romans in London.: In order to find out whether or not the english are as reticent as has been claimed, three journalists dressed up in full Roman costume, togas, laural garlands and all, they arrived at Charing Cross Station in the West end of London in a taki, and walked right up the Strand. The results were exactly as had been expected, apart from the typical cockneys - the station porters, the postmen acknowledged them, all the other people that they saw, the Men and women in the street acted with complete indifference, most of them were too embarassed to even give the roman trio a second glance. Photo shows The three Romans walk along the Strand in the West End of London are treated as an everyday occurmance
