Mar. 18, 1955 - 18-3-55 - Press visit to the new Southern Air Traffic Control Center at London airport - A press visit was held today at London Airport - of the new Southern Air Traffic Control Centre which is to replace the existing one at Uxbridge, and which contains the aiways and radar control of Civil Aviation for the whole of the South of England. It has been specially designed to cope with the ever increasing traffic due to airports in the London area. Keystone Photo Shows:- Radar controllers follow the progress of aircraft on radar screens. These screens operate on long and short range enabling a complete follow through of aircraft
