Jun. 06, 1955 - Tunnel to test heat barrier; Rockets, Jet engine, guided missiles and jet planes will be able to fly at 2, 000 mph in a new wind tunnel built at the Armstrong Whitworth guided missile plant, Coventry, England, to carry out tests within the range of the heat barrier speeds at which heat generated begins to distort aircraft structures.
