Nov. 11, 1959 - Miniature camera gives the answers about missiles. Could photograph a whole town.: A miniature button camera which is only 1 1/2 inches wide and 1 1/4 inches long has been developed by the Australian Department of Supply's weapons research establishments. This is the camera that is giving scientists the answers they need about missiles fired at the Woomera rocket range in Australia. It can be fired in the dummy warhead of a missile - and is so strong that it can be used again after being recovered form the fallen weapons. It can take a picture in less than one thousandth of a second. It has a remarkable range - and it is said that fitted with a cin e film - the camera could photograph a whole town. The Fairey Aviation Company has undertaken the manufacture of the camera. Photo shows the midget camera - that is said to be able to give the answers needed by scientists about guided missiles
