Feb. 26 Symphonie The First Communication Satellite Made In Europe: The first European made communication satellite Symphonie was now flown to the United States, where it will be launched in the middle of December, carried by a Thor Delta rocket. Symphonie is the first satellite, which was designed and built by the European space industry within the limits of the French/West-German CIFAS-association. The systems and components developed for Symphonie represent the latest in technical development, on which the European space industry can built upon for further projects. Photo shows Symphonie at the testing hall of the West-German combine Messerschmitt-Bolkow-Blohm. From 1975 it will be used for testing programs of telephone-, radio- and television transferring
