Mar. 27 Hamburg/West Germany: The first public call box for people being hard hearing: The first public call box for deafs was installed now at the main station in Hamburg/West-Germany and immediately tested by Peter Drews (Peter Drews, picture) the chairman of the deafs union. The conversation becomes directly transmitted by a transmitting spool to the hearing aid at this new and speical telephone. It may also be connected with a normal private telephone set in case it is push-button telephone (again a small monthly fee). If not, the telephone can be provided with the transmitting spool against an additional monthly fee of DM 3.50 (about less than two dollar). This special telephone is, without doubt, a commendable installation, but nevertheless only a small beginning, if one considers, that there are about 5 millions of people hearing hard in West-Germany
