Smith, in his 70, invented the clock; it is an apparatus controlled by Tim, the Post Office clock, and by signals every second from the Rugby wireless station. The clock accuracy is absolute. If the pendulum is out of phase by one thousandth of a second the radio signal will bring it to order. Clockmarkers expect to see radio controlled clocks in use in railway stations, factories and Post Offices.
