Machine Tool Cuts The And Costs: Using the techniques of electronics and automation, Britain's Ministry of Supply has developed a machine tool for which great savings in cost and time are claimed. Exhibited recently in London, it was said that its total plant costs use a fraction of those of large forging preases and that it can handle components up to 25 feet long, 7 feet wide, and 1 foot thick in about one tenth of the normal time and cost.
