Mar. 03, 1960 - The first drive-in-cinema of Germany will be opened on March 31st, 1960 on the outskirt of Frankfurt. The drive in cinema where 1100 cars can be placed in front of the screen which is 36 meters wide and 15 meters high was built by Siemens and Halske as ordered by the Autokino Ltd. at Gravenbruch (Gravenbruch). Photo shows the pump with a loudspeaker, which can be taken inside the car. By pushing a knob on the loudspeaker one can also switch on a calling installation which makes the waiter come and ask for the orders of the guests
